Today I had to go shopping to get some more beading supplies and some fabric for some custom orders.  I found this cool new bead shop called Red and Green Gems in Lakewood, CO.   They had tons of great stones, tumbled, semi precious, gems, etc, etc.  They drilled some holes in rocks for me, which was great, ...but it was kinda expensive. at $6 per hole!  But the stones were reasonably priced and they had a lot of variety.
The last time I went to my regular gem shop, they were out of sterling silver earring hooks...and this new place didnt have any either!  Grrr.  I looked at another craft store for them and still didnt find any?!?  Why is that so hard.  I never did get the fabric I needed....I couldnt make a decision...geez.
Josh and I then went to JCPenneys, since I needed more work clothes.  I was able to get a few things...but the highlight of the day was noticing a pet store right outside of penneys, and we spent probably 1.5 hours in there looking at and holding puppies~!!  They had tons of puppies, probably about 50, I would say!  They are all purebred, which is not necessarially our taste, but they sure were cute!  though, I think going to the "pound" and getting a puppy is the better way to go   But they sure were cute!!!!
Rock would be so upset with us...lol

Still pretty stressed around here.  The worry of Josh's job loss still looms, and I am working lots of hours both at work and sewing to pad our savings account.  I am also sewing some custom orders, and making Christmas gifts.  I am really hopeful the gifts turn out as great as they are in my head :)  I am really excited about them!!  I love to make handmade gifts, I wish I didn't have so many other projects right now so I could enjoy them more.  My Christmas wish is to have the basement usable in the next 2 weeks so that we can get a christmas tree, since we are not going home (and we have no room in our house currently).  with lots of work, from josh, (as i work OT, sew, and make christmas gifts:) so we'll see if it happens or not...:)  I am really hoping!  (he never reads this)

Anyhow, I have had a small amount of time to do a few other things for my website.
They are available to buy, think GIFT ideas!

I think somehow our Christmas pics got deleted : (     such a bummer.......unless they are stored somewhere on the external hard drive, but when I downloaded the memory cards, they were blank!  Unless josh maybe downloaded them and put them somewhere impossible to find.......then they are gone.  boo!
So if anyone has any good pics, I would really like them!

Currently life has gotten back to normal, sorta.  Josh started school this week, he has 2 classes; statistics, and some other one that I cant remember, haha.  He is thinking that the stats class will be hard, lots of work...Josh's degree program is a Bachelors of Arts in Technology.  Yes, of arts....weird huh?  so his classes aren't necessarialy math problems in his stats class, but projects applying statistics to things.  He would just rather math problems, i think...so it will be different, but I hope to see that the class really applies the stats to specific problems one would face in a technology (IT type) job.....we shall see.

Got some results on my back recently, I have a degenerating disc in my back, which is causing most of the problems....well, its settin off a chain reaction of problems to my muscles, and other discs, who are supporting this bad one.  basically I go to a physiotherapist and see what they recommend, hard core PT is what I think will happen.  I guess thats way better than surg!  I need to make an appointment with them, and hope to on Monday.

I still need to post some pics of the basement...but I haven't gotten to that yet.  I hope to tomorrow, since Josh is skiing (and i am too worried about falling and hurting my back, but  I hope after a year of physiotherapy....next year....) Our friend Joe is buying one of our tickets, we purchase them in August they are way cheaper, so we have to use them up!

I am working on a line of clothing which is more low cost for the customers.  I hope to be doing less work on an item, less time, and to make it simpler and sell it for less.  We will see if it catches on...my pencil skirt for $28 sold pretty quick......so maybe..........

Its been quite a month, with the whole Rock surgery thing, working on paying off our loan and dealing with that, construction on the house, stressed out about Christmas presents and making them all.   And then this morning, I hurt my back again.   The Worst possible thing!  I was home today, on my day off with a LOT to do.  Dealing with jackhammering below me, trying to work, listening to the MP3 player and all I did was bend over to cut some fabric, then wham!  It has never felt better since the last time I hurt it, it was tolerable, but not better.  But now, I am in agony again.  I cant even lay down this time, standing is ok, sitting is less ok,, and laying is not so good.  which really sucks, since I'd like to sleep sometime.  I just gotta get through tomorrow at work, and things will be better, i hope.  Made it to the Dr today, got some scripts, so hopefully the meds will help, SOOOON.    The next step is to go to the orthopedist, then get an MRI, then back to ortho for the results.  Ridiculous that i cant just go get an MRI, cause I know exactly what ortho DR will say......i will know more after the MRI.  Stupid waste of money if you ask me, and we have paid soooo much money this year to doctors for my back.  I am starting to stress a little.  At least the bills take a while to come....

In other news, our basement is under construction currently.  Its very exciting to watch!  For those who don't know, our basement floor is all cracked, and jacked up due to foundation issues.  We got the foundation stuff fixed when we bought the house, but are now, finally getting the floor done.  Its all jackhammered out, pretty much anyway, they still have to do under the stairs, and under the water heater and furnace, and finish hauling it out.  There is a HUGE pile of concrete in the driveway.  I will take pics soon, the batteries are charging!

On a positive note, i have had several sales on my site, and etsy shop lately.  It gives me a boost of confidence, and i am really glad things are picking up.  Hopefully for a while too.!

Wow, its been a long time since I have posted.  I have been so busy, I barely have time for anything lately.  My website has picked up, so I have been packing up packages, and making custom orders like crazy!  I will be positng pics of a beaaaaaaaaautful dress later this morning.  wowza its purdy!   I am also working real hard to handmake most Christmas gifts this year.....though I cannot handmade books, and I did have to break down and buy some things which I wont list b/c I know the family reads this :)

We do have some crummy news to post.  Rock, our dog, has to have surgery on Tuesday to take out 2 lumps which are located in her mammory area, possibly in the canal, which could be mammary cancer.  I am pretty worried!  Not only do we worry about cancer, but the surgery as well.  Dogs and anesthesia dont go hand in hand.  Please keep her/us in your thoughts.  We (josh will do this) take her in at 8:30 am on Tuesday and pick her up after work that day.  I could NOT be the one to just leave her there, she gets so nervous, worried, shakes, oh man its terrible!  So josh is using some sick time to take her....I guess i am most nervous when we go to pick her up...waiting to find out that she is ok, and if she has cancer will be a killer for me....who hates anticipation of any kind (any bad anticiaption anyway)

On a happy note, we are finally able to move forward on the basement floor.  For those of you who don't know, our house was bought supa cheap due to bad building of the house in the 50s.  The soil here has Betonite in it (sp?) and it causes soil to shift, and foundation to crack. When we bought the house we had tied into the loan money to stabalize the house...so its not going anywhere....but we still have 950 sq feet of basement that is a shell.  And we have to re-pour the concrete floor because there are terrible cracks in it.  So THAT is what we are getting done now, the basement floor.  We bought a storage unit for the month, and this weekend we are going to "move" our basement, clean it out, and then NEXT monday the work will begin!  I am so excited!  Then josh and i will finish the basement ourselves.   I dont know what the hell i am doing, of course, but Josh says I will learn.  Fine by me!  He apparently knows how to do all the other stuff, though a basement finishing book might be in order.

I guess thats the news for now.  I will be posting pics of a fabulous dress later today as well!

FINALLY!  This diaper bag is done, and we have pictures, and its getting packed up and on its way!  YAY!  I have been working on it for some time now, little by little.  My customer didn't "need" it right away, and it was a tough applique, so I was able to take my time.  This is one of the most detailed pieces I have done.

Applique, 3 Dancin' Dead bears and a Terrapin sitting on the moon, playing banjo!  I liked making the banjo!  I think it turned out purdy good:)

Bag, with stuff in it.  Hangs nicely with an adjustable strap.  The strap is really thick, so it won't "dig in" to your shoulder, even with a tank top on!  (I checked to make sure)

Big patchwork pocket on the inside, great for keys, cell phone, wallet, necessities!  The rest is for baby, right?  LOL

Diaper bag, back.  simple, grey cord.  2 patchwork pockets on either side, great for a bottle, water bottle, or anything else ya need!

So, let me know what you think?!  It sure was a lot of work, and I am so proud of the accomplishment.

This weekend we are finally hiking and camping! !!!!  YAY!!!!  I am so excited to get out to the mountians and see the FALL COLORS!!!!  They are so pretty this time of year, and I hope to get a lot of good pics on our hike.  Here is the link to the hike, it shows the route we will take (class1) and the mileage, and pics of the hike as well.
http://www.14ers.com./routemain.php?route=gray1&peak=Grays%20Peak%20and%20Torreys%20Peak

I hope that like works, otherwise, go to Grays PEak, then Routes.

We are going to camp here.
http://campincolorado.com/federal/arapaho_roosevelt_nf/clear_lake/clear_lake.html

IT is a little ways from the hike, but it should only take about 30-45 mins to get there from our campground...not like hiking Snowmass, where it was a 4 HOUR drive to go 30 miles!  It says access to the trail is EZ.  I sure hope so!
